Fil-Grad piyesta 2025

Filipino Graduation, or Fil-Grad for short, was our biggest event that we hosted, to put FLAN on the Filipino community’s map and to recruit potential FLAN members for future events. About 50 attendees joined our joyful graduation ceremony. Seven volunteers helped out on this day, most of whom were alumni from various Georgia universities. We had community-based organizations set up tables, and we chose specific organizations to table based on the students’ majors to educate them about opportunities available after graduation. Friends and family were encouraged to attend alongside other community members to celebrate the graduates' new chapter. During the ceremony, graduates received a graduation stole featuring the Filipino Flag. They could choose who would give them the stole; whether it was a parent, friend, sibling, significant other, or grandparent. The purpose of Fil-Grad and FLAN is to involve the community in supporting young adults during this transitional period.
