Michele Sauve

Michelle Sauve (they/she/siya) is a lifelong Georgia organizer, social worker, and community leader deeply invested in building grassroots power in their community and the working class. Born and raised in Georgia, Michelle has organized across the state their entire life. They earned their undergraduate degree in Human Services with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from Kennesaw State University and completed their Master of Social Work at Georgia State University. Michelle is the founder of Georgia Chapter of the Malaya Movement, where they organize with Filipinos in the South through grassroots, anti-imperialist movement building. They also launched and served in leadership for the Justice for Alma Bowman campaign, bringing immigrant justice and rights to the forefront through grassroots organizing within their community. Michelle currently serves as the chair of the 9to5 union, organizes with AFSCME, and works as a labor organizer with 9to5. They are also the coalition lead for the Georgia Coalition for Paid Leave, coordinating efforts to win paid leave for all workers across the state. Michelle lives in Atlanta, GA, and brings an unwavering commitment to solidarity, community care, and collective liberation.
